Sabina D’Great Shares Testimony After Beating Cancer

 

Award winning radio personality, media personality and minister Sabina D’Great, popularly known as NaijaPastor, is celebrating a major personal milestone after completing an extensive cancer treatment journey and receiving medical confirmation that she is cancer free, Gmusicplus reports.

Her journey began in April 2024 after she discovered a lump in her breast. What first appeared as a worrying physical change soon led to a series of medical investigations. Following further tests and a biopsy, Sabina received a diagnosis of HER2 positive breast cancer on March 25, 2025.

The diagnosis marked the beginning of a difficult season that would test her physically, emotionally and spiritually. However, Sabina chose to face the journey with both faith and medical care.

Rather than immediately making the diagnosis public, she first shared the news with a close circle of family members, friends, ministry leaders and prayer partners. She built a support system around herself while preparing for the demanding treatment ahead.

At the center of her faith journey was Isaiah 53:5, a scripture she held onto throughout the process. At the same time, she submitted herself to medical treatment and followed the care plan provided by her doctors.

Her treatment involved chemotherapy, surgery, radiation and immunotherapy. Each stage brought its own challenges, and the journey became more difficult than she initially expected.

The physical demands were especially severe after her first chemotherapy cycle. Sabina experienced serious complications that required emergency medical intervention and critical care. That moment added another layer of uncertainty to an already difficult season.

Even so, she continued with treatment.

Through the difficult days, Sabina received support from her daughter Debbie, her siblings, church communities, friends, ministry partners and a wider network of people who stood with her. Their support came in different forms, including prayer, financial assistance, practical help, encouragement and care for her family.

For Sabina, the journey was never only about the treatment itself. It was also about the people who remained present when the process became exhausting.

A major turning point came after her surgery in October 2025. At a subsequent post surgery appointment, she received what she describes as her “Proof of Testimony”.

The medical report showed no detectable cancer. For Sabina, that result became a powerful moment in a journey that had included fear, painful procedures, long treatment sessions and countless prayers.

Still, the journey was not immediately over. She continued with the remaining stages of her treatment and follow up care. Her experience also reminded her that recovery can take time, even after encouraging medical results.

On August 24, 2026, Sabina reached another significant milestone when she officially completed her treatment journey by ringing the final bell at the Precision Cancer Center in Katy, Houston.

She marked the moment in the presence of her oncologist, Dr. Monalisa Alatar, Dr. Kevin, chemotherapy nurses and loved ones who had walked with her through the process.

The final bell carried deep meaning. It represented the completion of a treatment journey that had taken her through chemotherapy, surgery, radiation and immunotherapy. It also marked the close of one of the most demanding chapters of her life.

Her breast specialist and surgeon, Dr. Tamara Saunders, and radiologist Dr. Pham subsequently cleared her, bringing another important confirmation to the journey.

Looking back, Sabina describes the outcome with a statement that captures the depth of her experience.

“God gave me a testimony that sounds like a lie.”

That declaration reflects more than the medical outcome. For Sabina, the testimony includes the difficult moments, the people who stood beside her, the professionals who provided care and the faith that sustained her through each stage.

She openly acknowledges the role of medical professionals in her recovery. At the same time, she gives significant credit to the prayers and practical support she received from family, friends, churches and ministry communities.

Her daughter, Debbie, holds a special place in that story. Sabina particularly honours her for serving as her primary caregiver during some of the most difficult periods of treatment.

Debbie’s role went beyond ordinary family support. She remained close during demanding stages of the journey and helped care for her mother when treatment placed significant physical and emotional demands on her.

Sabina also honours her siblings and the many people who supported the family throughout the process. Their contributions included spiritual support, emotional encouragement and financial assistance.

Together, that network helped Sabina continue moving forward when the journey became difficult.

Yet, the cancer journey also unfolded alongside another painful experience. In April 2026, while Sabina was recovering and preparing to return to active life, she lost her beloved eldest sister, Flora.

The loss added grief to an already demanding season. Sabina describes the period that followed as a time of grief and depression as she tried to process the death of someone who held an important place in her life.

Her recovery therefore involved more than healing from cancer treatment. She also had to navigate personal loss and the emotional weight that followed it.

Despite those challenges, Sabina continued to move forward.

Today, she is choosing to turn her experience into a message of hope, faith, resilience and gratitude. Rather than keeping the story private, she wants it to encourage people who may be facing their own difficult circumstances.

Her message also reflects an important part of her experience. Sabina does not present faith and medical treatment as opposing paths. Instead, she acknowledges both as part of the journey she personally experienced.

For her, prayer remained central, while doctors, nurses, surgeons, specialists and other medical professionals provided the care required throughout treatment.

“Yahweh heals,” Sabina says, reflecting on the journey. “He may use a route you are not familiar with, but Yahweh heals.”
