Mercy Chinwo

Born on the 5th of September in Rivers State, and raised in the city of Port Harcourt, the Nigerian roots phenom, Mercy Chinwo is a gospel singer-songwriter, actress, public speaker, and a multi-award-winning recording artist.

In 2013, Mercy Chinwo made her acting debut in the television movie titled HOUSE OF GOLD, starring alongside Yvonne Nelson, Majid, Omawumi, IcePrince, and Frank Odega. In the same year, she did the theme song for the Rivers State Carnival and was found deserving to be the face of the festival.

In 2015, she used her songwriting talents to pen her first solo single titled, ‘TESTIMONY’; a song which chronicled her life, and her journey towards success. Since then, Mercy has remained within the Gospel Music circuit, collaborating with some of the well-known Gospel music brands, such as Chris Morgan, Chioma Jesus, J.J Hairston, Sammie Okposo, Joe Praize, Deacon Buchi, Chris Morgan, Preye Odede, and many others.

In 2016, she released her second single titled ‘IGWE’; a soulful worship song which is fast becoming an anthem in many Churches trailed with testimonies.

Among Mercy’s influencers are the likes of Chris Morgan, Chioma Jesus, and Tasha Cobbs. She made cameo appearances in Sinach’s‘He Did it Again’ video which was released in 2015. She has dropped awesome singles like ‘OME KANNAYA’, ‘ON A REGULAR’, ‘EXCESS LOVE’, ‘I AM’, ‘TRUST’ and ‘LOVE EXPRESSION’ which were all premiered before she released her acclaimed debut album titled ‘THE CROSS MY GAZE’ in 2019.

3rd of July, 2020, Mercy Chinwo released her sophomore album, SATISFIED, a 15track set which boasts collaborations with renowned indigenous gospel music minister, Chioma Jesus, and Multiple Stellar Award-winning artist JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise. The latest collection from the powerhouse singer features acclaimed singles “Chinedum” “Akamdinelu” and “Obinasom”.
