A sub-genre of House music that originated in South Africa, Amapiano in recent years has experienced increased popularity across the African continent with a broad digital audience, massive streamings, and chart successes in countries far from its origin. The trending music genre is characterized by airy pads, shakers, synths, and its wide percussive basslines with log drums.

Nigerian artists, including gospel, have tapped into the Amapiano wave creating a fine blend with Afrobeats and Praise-worship music while flagging the genre worldwide.
