Toyebi is based in the United States of America and has worked with the likes of Darnell Davis & the Remnant, Sonnie Badu,Tosinger, Kenny K’ore, Lanre Olagbaju, Joy Ike, Mike Dreams, Mike Aremu and Midnight Crew. On this track, he manages to give us a home-drenched sound even though he worked with some international instrumentalists on it. Some of the said instrumentals are known to work with top international gospel artistes like Israel Houghton.

Our versatile ‘home boy’, Toyebi, gives us a homegrown sound on this one but also hinted that he would release some western grown sound in due time.

Lyrics

Chorus:

I have seen your goodness

Seen your favor

Seen your mercy

Baba God, you too much

Seen your goodness

Seen your favor

Seen your mercy

Baba God, you too much eh!

Verse 1:

I have seen your goodness in times of adversity

I have seen your favor

When I didn’t deserve it coming to me

I’ve experienced your mercy

Showers of blessings rain over me

I’ll sing your praise for all eternity

Pre-Chorus 1:

I don’t have to beg

I don’t have to borrow

I don’t have to beg or plead

You supply my every need

You have always been right there

So I praise you right now

I know you are for me, so who can be against me

(Chorus)

Verse 2:

Times without number

You listen to me when I call

I can always count on you

With Baba I can never fall

You hold me securely

In the palm of your mighty hand

Through trials and testing

Your love has never failed

Pre-Chorus 2:

Once I was younger

And now I am older

I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken

Nor his seed begging for bread

I will live and not die

This is the plan that you have for me

You said it in your word, I believed in my heart

Now I have seen,

(Chorus)

Bridge :

You will never leave me

You will never forsake me

Even when I don’t deserve it

Your mercy still upholds me

You will never leave me

(Never leave me, never leave me, never leave me, oh no)

You will never forsake me

(Won’t forsake me, won’t forsake me, won’t forsake me, no no!)

Even when I don’t deserve your favor and your grace

(Even when I don’t deserve your mercy)

Your mercy still upholds me

(Chorus)

(Chorus)

ABOUT TOYEBI

Based in the USA, Toyebi is a singer/song writer, musician, worship consultant, and worship leader from Nigeria who has spent the last 14 years honing his craft in preparation for the right time and opportunity. Born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, he was introduced to music at an early age through primary school plays and singing in children’s church in his pre-teen years. This sparked a keen curiosity for music, which led him to become the front man for the jazz ensemble at the American British Academy (A.B.A) in Muscat, Oman where he lived with his family as a young teenager.

Upon his return to Nigeria, Toyebi continued developing his musical skills in secondary school, Jephthah Comprehensive Secondary School, Port Harcourt (J.C.S.S.), beinga member of the choir, playing keyboards and leading praise/worship. This was where Toyebi became born again and God began leaning his heart towards preparation for a greater purpose through music and ministry. Following graduation from secondary school, he moved to the United States to pursue a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Louisiana State University.

As a college student, Toyebi was a leader in the youth ministry and praise and worship ministry of Bethany World Prayer Center for 5 years. He was privileged to lead worship for the youth ministry, “220” under the leadership of Pastor Joel Stockstill reaching an average of 3000 students in weekly meetings and a leadership core of about 250 student leaders. He was also a member of the Praise and Worship Ministry at Bethany under the leadership of Jonathan Stockstill (Deluge Band). In this season, he was privileged to share the stage with artists such as Israel and New Breed, Micah Stampley, Kent Henry and Martha Munizzi to name a few.

Following graduation from college 2008, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he currently resides and works as an electrical engineer. In his time in Minneapolis, he has grown as a musician ministering/collaborating with artists such as Darnell Davis & the Remnant, Sonnie Badu,Tosinger, Kenny K’ore, LanreOlagbaju, Joy Ike, Mike Dreams, Mike Aremu and Midnight Crew. He has also been an integral part of his local church, Christ Church International under the leadership of Pastor Darrell & Dr. Edna Geddes, while traveling the country leading worship, teaching worship seminars and speaking at conferences as God opens the door.

His Debut Single titled “I have Seen (Baba God)” is a track that expresses his overflowing gratitude for a life full of God’s goodness, favor and mercy. It is set for release on January 29 and is part of his debut EP project scheduled for released late spring of 2014. “I Have Seen (Baba God)” was recorded at T & S Studios, Sugar Land Texas and produced by “The Internationals”.
