Tasha Cobbs Leonard Releases New Studio Album — “TASHA”

Tasha Cobbs Leonard, the three-time GRAMMY winner and Billboard’s Gospel Artist of the Decade, has released her highly anticipated self-titled studio album, TASHA, today July 25 via Motown Gospel.

Unlike her previous live recordings, this marks Tasha’s first album fully crafted in the studio. Teaming up with her husband and producer Kenneth Leonard Jr., she embraced the freedom to push creative boundaries both lyrically and sonically. The result is a 15-track body of work that blends gospel, worship, pop, hip hop, and 80s R&B, all grounded in faith and raw emotional honesty.

“This album is the truest expression of who I am right now,” says Tasha Cobbs Leonard. “It’s vulnerable, it’s honest, it’s joyful — and it’s rooted in everything I believe about God meeting us exactly where we are. We didn’t hold back in the writing or the production. Every song is a piece of my journey, and I hope people find their own stories in it too.”

A Bold Spiritual Shift in Sound and Story

TASHA is not just a musical evolution. It is a spiritual reintroduction. The album reveals Tasha’s heart through a deeply personal lens. Tracks like “Broken Pieces” explore vulnerability and healing, while the uplifting anthem “Church,” featuring John Legend, invites joyful worship across genres and spaces.

The recently released single “Already Good (Tasha Slide)” introduced this new era with a celebratory groove and line dance energy. Its video was spotlighted on Good Morning America and even lit up BET’s billboard in Times Square. Each song carries a piece of Tasha’s journey, a journey marked by seasons of transformation, growth, and deep communion with God.

The album invites listeners to connect with God wherever they are, whether in celebration, pain, searching, or worship.
