The 35th Stellar Awards held virtually on Sunday evening with superstar trio of Kirk Franklin, Jonathan McReynolds, and Koryn Hawthorne as hosts.

Donald Lawrence who led the nomination with 9 nods, won four awards including song of the year for “Deliver Me (This Is My Exodus),” while Kirk Franklin with 8 nods emerges Top winner with five awards overall for Male vocalist of the year and Contemporary male vocalist of the year, Album of the Year and Contemporary album of the year, and Producer of the year.

John P. McKee took three awards for Traditional album of the year, Traditional male vocalist of the year and Traditional choir of the year. Tasha Cobbs Leonard who also entered the show with 8 nominations, was named Artist of the year and Contemporary female vocalist of the year, as she took two awards.

The Walls Group won Duo/chorus group of the year and contemporary duo/chorus group of the year,  for the second year in a row.

The show also honored the contributions of first responders on the front lines of the battle against the coronavirus pandemic. Celebrating the year in gospel music with performances, Anthony Brown, CeCe Winans, James Fortune, J.J. Hairston & Youthful Praise, Travis Greene, and more took the Stellar Awards virtual stage.
