It is no longer news that Award-winning producer, actor and director Tyler Perry has smashed the record books recently, by becoming the first black American to own a film studio with outright ownership.

The official opening of his massive film studio in Atlanta had high profile celebrities and personalities grace the event. The likes of legendary Operah Winfrey, Halle Berry, Samuel L. Jackson, Beyonce, Jay Z and the Clinton’s were on show to support and help launch Perry’s new facility – a 134 hectare (330 acre) studio, one of the largest in the US, that once served as a Confederate army base.

But one must be wondering how this magnificent structure came to be and what it consists of? Massive gratitude to Architectural Digest, we now have an actual tour of the (300 acre) masterpiece with Tyler Perry himself being on ground to showcase what the world has been itching to see.

“Today we take you to Atlanta, Georgia to tour the sprawling Tyler Perry Studios. Home to productions like Marvel’s “Black Panther” and AMC Networks’ “The Walking Dead,” the self-made entertainment legend’s production compound is larger than Warner Bros. and Walt Disney’s Burbank studios combined,” the detailed description reads. “12 newly-dedicated sound stages are joined by an entire backlot neighborhood called “Maxineville,” featuring a perfect replica of Madea’s house. Tyler Perry Studios is the centerpiece of Georgia’s burgeoning film industry and a testament to the vision, success, and generosity of its founder.”
