Thanks to “Way Maker,” Renowned Worship Leader and Award Winning Singer Sinach has bagged yet another award for her record-breaking and chart-topping single. The widely-acclaimed worship song was named “Song of the Year” at the 2021 BMI Christian Awards virtual event, making Sinach the first African gospel artist to achieve this feat.
“BMI SONG OF THE YEAR! So grateful to everyone that raised this anthem,” wrote the prolific songwriter in an appreciation post on Instagram.

Originally recorded by Sinach in 2015, “Way Maker” is a regular anthem in churches around the world today and has been covered by notable worship leaders worldwide including Michael W. Smith whose version held the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Christian Airplay Chart for three weeks. “Way Maker” was also named the NO. 2 Nigerian song of the decade on popular streaming platform YouTube with over 149 million views.
Recall in 2020, Sinach also made history with the worship anthem “Way Maker” which was named “Song of the Year” at the 2020 GMA Dove Awards.
