Social Activist and Contemporary Christian Music Singer/Songwriter Steven Curtis Chapman has released a moving tribute to his father, leading up to Father’s Day titled – “That’s My Dad“.

“It seems only right that I would finally write a song for the man who gave me a love for music, taught me how to appreciate a “great song” and was, in fact, the first songwriter I ever knew.” the five-time Grammy Winner penned on an Instagram post, “I’m very thankful for my dad and thankful I could share this song that he inspired on this Father’s Day weekend”

Quotable Lyrics

That’s my dad…slowin’ down a little bit
But his eyes still shine just as bright and kind as they ever did
And he calls me up just to say he loves me and ask
me how I’ve been
And he’ll say remember when and tell that story again
He’s told me a hundred times and we’ll laugh until we cry
Then he’ll say I’ll let ya go but before I do
Let me say a little prayer with you
And we’ll talk to God and I’ll remember how grateful I am
That’s my dad
