Tope Alabi Celebrates 55th Birthday by Giving Back to the Community

Nigerian gospel music icon Tope Alabi celebrated her 55th birthday on October 27th in a deeply meaningful way by giving back to the community and touching lives through love and generosity. Partnering with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, the award-winning singer extended care to hundreds of families, distributing food boxes, offering prayers, and creating an atmosphere of gratitude and joy.
The outreach reflected the heart of her ministry worship in action and service to humanity. Those present at the event described the moment as both emotional and spiritually uplifting, as Tope Alabi prayed for every recipient and encouraged them to hold steadfast to faith in God.
Taking to Instagram, Tope Alabi expressed heartfelt thanksgiving to God as she reflected on her life’s journey. She wrote:
“Today, October 27th, I joyfully mark my 55th birthday! As I reflect on the journey of life, my heart overflows with gratitude to the Almighty God, the Giver of life, purpose, and grace. Every step of this journey has been a testament to His faithfulness, mercy, and unfailing love. I am deeply thankful for all that He has done, all that He is doing, and all that He will yet do. The past years have been filled with lessons, blessings, and countless reasons to give Him praise. Truly, God has been good to me!”

Alongside the outreach, the gospel star hosted a live praise and thanksgiving session, offering worship to God in celebration of His faithfulness over her life, family, and ministry.
Beyond her music, Tope Alabi has continually blazed trails in gospel ministry. Her recent hymnal project the first comprehensive hymnal collection of its kind in this generation, seeks to reconnect younger believers with the spiritual depth of hymns, through songs composed under divine inspiration.
Her creative excellence and spontaneous worship have birthed timeless projects, including the 16-track album “The Spirit of Light,” a powerful collaboration with photographer and singer TY Bello. The song “Logan Ti O De” from that album became a global anthem of hope and divine visitation. Her more recent 8-track album “Oluwa Ni” continues to testify of God’s mighty works and unending grace.
Tope Alabi and her husband, Soji Alabi, are the founders of the Mardebra Comforter Foundation, a faith-based charity organization that supports the less privileged. They also run Gospel Vibes, their music label, and organize the Praise The Almighty Concert, held every third Sunday of February in Lagos, a powerful gathering that draws thousands of worshippers to exalt God together.
In addition, their mentorship initiative, At Home With Tope Alabi (AHWTA), continues to shape the next generation of gospel artists by providing hands-on training in songwriting, worship composition, and ministry leadership.
The couple is blessed with God-fearing children, and together they remain steadfast in using their gifts and influence to glorify God and transform lives.
As Tope Alabi marks her 55th year, her life stands as a beacon of faith, creativity, and compassion. From releasing chart-topping gospel albums to empowering others through mentorship and charity, she continues to embody the essence of her calling; to worship God in spirit and truth while serving humanity with love.
