Saints, I just had a conversation with a friend, Pastor Pat Ackem-Vingir on this. And he made this observation about worship which is true.
As a worship leader, When you are leading, that is not a time to show your vocal agility and ability. It’s not a time to do all the vocal somersaults and gymnastics. As much as possible let’s not loose track of the song you are singing. Some folks Addlib so much you can’t even sing along. Nothing wrong with a little colour here and there, provided it is inspired and adds to the music and worship. Some songs are best sung straight. The way they are.
I can understand doing a special number that way, even though that can also pose a problem. But when you are worshipping, and getting the congregation to worship as well, please cut the excesses and reserve them for your personal worship time. God bless you o
