Award-winning Zambian gospel musician and Afro-hip-hop sensation, Pompi serves up fresh, hot, and sizzling rhymes on his newest single, “Samala” featuring Malawian top-notch rap Prince, Suffix, who added spice in the very right proportions for this Afro-rap heat.
The song is delivered with a unique flavor highlighted with an African percussive kit, later coupled the well-loved Trap vibe when some synth and strings were added.
“Samala” is a follow-up to Pompi’s 2020 “Pene Menso Ya Pela” and it comes on the heels of recently tying the knots with his heartthrob, Esther Chungu. The fresh groom displayed his rap skills and ‘braggadociousness,’ albeit making his boast in the Lord to live up to the expected hip-hop culture.
In an accompanying music video, Pompi proudly portrays his African culture in Royal and lush attire on a luxurious riverbank scenery where some Wakanda-ish dancers also choreographed to the Hip vibes in their local traditional attires. Splendid is one word to describe “Samala” as the montage did perfect justice to the song where Suffix didn’t perform less than expected.
“Samala” is available today to download/stream across digital channels.
